Training Update
Hello Parents,
Just a small update to keep you apprised of what we have been done in the last 2 weeks. I have been pleased with the boys attendance and there enthusiasm for the start of a new season.
My mandate for the season is to teach the boys the following :
1. 4-3-3 /4-5-1 system of play
2. proper play out of the back
3. Transition from the neutral third to attacking
4. Low and high pressure tactics
I have generally been working on basic possession , decision making , and pace of play . Please be patient with their progress and remember that we are measuring success by tasks and not results. I am aware that everyone is anxious for a training schedule, and I had requested a practice field 2 weeks ago but have been told to wait until permits have been granted. As soon as we have a field I will apply a fixed schedule so that everyone can plan ahead.
Please anticipate 2-3 practices every 8-10 days . 2 sessions will be technical and tactical and the third will be conditioning using the Fartlek technique(definition below)
Fartlek, which means “speed play” in Swedish,[1] is a form of interval training which puts stress on the whole aerobic energy system due to the continuous nature of the exercise. The difference between this type of training and continuous training is that the intensity or speed of the exercise varies, meaning that aerobic and anaerobic systems can be put under stress. It differs from traditional interval training in that it is unstructured; intensity and/or speed can be varied whenever the athlete wishes.[2][3] Most fartlek sessions last a minimum of 45 minutes and can vary from aerobic walking to anaerobic sprinting. Fartlek training is generally associated with running, but can include almost any kind of exercise.

Thank you
